As much as halo probably should of ended at 3. I love this scene, even if I think chiefs last dialouge isnt needed

Halo 4’s multiplayer may not be good and the gameplay may be a step down but chief as a character is amazing in halo 4

This scene is better than the Halo show on Paramount Plus, and it's not even close.

As much as I dislike Halo 4 I will say this conversation between lasky and chief is a top tier moment in the entire franchise.

Though it might have lacked in gameplay, it's story will live on as the greatest in the series

Halo 4 had such a beautiful story. They balanced the rawness of chief's spartan side and his human side very well. Say what you will about the didact, but the relationship between chief and cortana in this game was a masterpiece. Shame they threw it away in Halo 5 and now, Infinite. Had so much potential to play out like a movie -- in the best way possible.

Master chief's story should have ended here; Cortana has died, he has lost every person he cared about... but in the end, Cortana passed on, and her sacrifice gave chief his humanity back. He is a man once more, free to live in peace as Cortana wanted.

117 is the machine, Cortana was his soul... whenever they took master chiefs soul the game just felt empty...

Man, watching this a decade after it came, shit still breaks my heart when he says it. Spartans are basically programmed machines yes, but they can still love Cortana and chief went through so much together. There was definitely love there like you love a family member.

It's really ironic how the AI has more humanity in her than her human companion, who acts more like a machine than she does. They should've stuck to exploring this.

Despite Halo 4 wasn't a great start for 343 I really do like Lasky

I can see the complaints at launch with Halo 4's story being too focused, but after playing 5 and Infinite it makes you realize 4's story was the right direction. I think 343 wanted to delve deeper into someone we think we know but actually don't know enough of (with H4) and then broaden it out to the universal storytelling we all love from Bungie with H5, but we all know H5 failed massively at that.

The whole being a machine stuff was kinda stupid since Chief and Cortana were so well respected by many, had loss allies (good friends even) and were even commemorated for their supposed passing when they failed to return during slipspace jump from the Ark at the Memorial

The way chief turns and looks at Lasky. Damn say what you want about the 343 games. Halo 4 had great bones.

Lasky gave Chief a wake up call by basically telling him he is still human and not a machine

How did the creators get 5 and infinite so god damn wrong after making such a masterful ending to 4 😔

If you ever watched RvB, I think the creators tried to adapt from this scene about chief being a machine to Locus’s redemption since he was broken by war as well to be taught that orders must always be completed and to be the ultimate weapon. Later to find out soldiers aren’t machines
